The Main Responsibilities of (OFSD) Vehicle
Custodians
- Know the physical location or disposition of the vehicle
and its keys.
- Assure that the vehicle and its keys are readily available
to users in the assigned group.
- Keep the vehicle properly fueled and know what to do if
the vehicle should inadvertently run out of fuel.
- Schedule and deliver the vehicle to the LLNL Fleet Motor
Pool Garage when notified for routine service and maintenance.
- When necessary, schedule and deliver the vehicle to Motor
Pool for specific non-routine repairs or special maintenance.
- When the vehicle has a bi-fuel capability and will run
on gasoline or CNG (compressed natural gas), assure that
the vehicle uses a minimum of one full tank of unleaded
gasoline every 60 days. Your vehicle has bi-fuel capability.
This vehicle's primary fuel source should be compressed
natural gas (CNG).
- Know what to do if the vehicle is involved in an accident,
particularly if the accident should result in property damage
and/or personal injury.
- Report end-of-the-month vehicle odometer readings to the
NIF Programs Vehicle Representative (click
here).
- If necessary, encourage the users in your group to maintain
optimum utilization of your assigned vehicle. Normal utilization
for your catagory of vehicle (Offsite Discretionary or OFSD)
is approximately 465 miles per month.
- Verify that your vehicle is being charged to the correct
account number. If that number changes or the account is
closed, you should provide a new account number or the name
of the Resource Manager or other contact who can provide
a new account number for vehicle operating expenses.
