The Main Responsibilities of (NDOP) Vehicle
Custodians
- Know the physical location or disposition of the vehicle
and its keys.
- Assure that the vehicle and its keys are readily available
to users in the assigned group.
- Keep the vehicle properly fueled and know what to do if
the vehicle should inadvertently run out of fuel.
- Schedule and deliver the vehicle to the LLNL Fleet Motor
Pool Garage when notified for routine service and maintenance.
- When necessary, schedule and deliver the vehicle to Motor
Pool for specific non-routine repairs or special maintenance.
- When the vehicle has a bi-fuel capability and will run
on gasoline or CNG (compressed natural gas), assure that
the vehicle uses a minimum of one full tank of unleaded
gasoline every 60 days. Your vehicle has bi-fuel capability.
This vehicle's primary fuel source should be compressed
natural gas (CNG).
- Know what to do if the vehicle is involved in an accident,
particularly if the accident should result in property damage
and/or personal injury.
- Report end-of-the-month vehicle odometer readings to the
NIF Programs Vehicle Rep. Your vehicle is categorized as
Non-Discretionary Operational (NDOP), complete and submit
the monthly vehicle availability log with the odometer reading
(click here).
- If necessary, encourage the users in your group to maintain
optimum utilization of your assigned vehicle.
- Verify that your vehicle is being charged to the correct
account number. If that number changes or the account is
closed, you should provide a new account number or the name
of the Resource Manager or other contact who can provide
a new account number for vehicle operating expenses.
